Open Studio
Course description
The studio and its other course formats in the 2026/27 winter semester:
Open Studio follows on from the foundation course Digital publishing practice and deepens what you learnt there through supported work on projects in the field of digital publishing. The aim is to conceive, design, build and publish a publication format of your own. That may be a web portfolio, a web report, a digital magazine, an app, a podcast or a digital book. The topic is up to you and can be developed alongside another course. We discuss possible directions at the first session. The studio also offers the chance to work on a digital magazine from and for the faculty this semester.
More on that under the open call Zero Zero One.
The studio's other formats are open to you as well — with or without enrolling:
In Digital publishing practice you acquire the fundamentals of conceiving, designing and building digital publication formats. The weekly workshops in the skills lab, which you choose freely, introduce you to the tools and techniques that matter. What ties all the courses together is the editorial team, where we discuss topics for the various publication formats and talk through where things stand.
Every workshop of the semester is also listed in the workshop calendar.
Target group
Everyone who wants to work on a project of their own or on the open call Zero-Zero-One in the context of digital publishing and already brings some experience.
Way of working
Individual project work, short peer reviews and input where it is needed
